Never gets dark!

June 26 - Culbokie to Alness. It stays light most of the night - even the dark isn’t completely dark. Seems Apple was able to fix the in app payments and I was able to download the GPS and maps - will test that today. Someone was loudly walking their dog at 6:30 and so broke camp and started a bit early.

Managed to get a bit lost, but finally found my way to the route. Walked down to the A9 and prepared to cross the bridge. Only 100 miles to John O’Groates:). Crossing was uneventful - the A9 was pretty quiet. There was a nice verge and sidewalk along the bridge - the only not nice thing was having to step over a deer carcass along the way. Looks like there are oil Derek’s in the water near Invergordon - not too scenic. Saw a kite bird along the way. Watched the seagulls as they came to eye level looking for food in the water.

Coming into Alness, the fields were beautiful and looked like water as the breeze moved the wheat to look like cats paws on the water.

B&B at Alness not totally great, but good enough. The owner had one eye that didn’t track and horrid teeth - not his fault, but interesting.

Walked the high street and was amazed to see how many young women there were - most with children or pregnant. about three shops having to do with weddings:)

Had a great steak pie and soup and cider for dinner. Bought some cookies which I didn’t need, but ate anyway.

Spent the evening taking care of my feet and getting odds and ends done with my feet elevated.
